8/15/2019 Cody Kessler, Phi, QB
Kessler was knocked out of the team's 24-10 preseason victory against the Jaguars on the opening drive Thursday night. Defensive end Datone Jones came unblocked off the edge and walloped Kessler in the back. Kessler was escorted to the sideline, evaluated for a head injury in the locker room and then placed in the concussion protocol. The team already was without backup Nate Sudfeld, who broke his left wrist in the team's preseason opener against the Titans.

Analysis: Kessler appeared in five games last season with Jacksonville and was 85 for 131 for 709 yards with two TDs and two interceptions.
8/13/2019 Andrew Luck, Ind, QB
Luck will likely miss the rest of the preseason with an injury near the front of his left ankle. Colts general manager Chris Ballard says he isn't sure if the injury will keep Luck out of the Sept. 8 season opener against the Chargers.

Analysis: Indy's starting quarterback has been dealing with lower leg pain since straining his left calf in March. Luck missed all of the team's offseason workouts and has not participated in any full team drills at training camp. Luck played all 16 games last season, throwing for 4,593 yards with 39 TDs and 15 interceptions.
8/13/2019 Golden Tate, NYG, WR
Tate has had the appeal of his four-game suspension for a violation of the NFL's policy on performance enhancers turned down. He's eligible to return Oct. 6 against the Vikings.

Analysis: Tate, who signed a $37.5 million contract as a free agent with the Giants in March, announced the suspension in a Twitter post on July 27. He said he intended to appeal it and felt his case had merit because he was using a fertility drug prescribed by a doctor. Tate split last season with the Lions and Eagles, catching 74 passes for 795 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games.
8/9/2019 Antonio Callaway, Cle, WR
Callaway has been suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season for violating the NFL's substance abuse program.

Analysis: This will keep Callaway, Cleveland's projected No. 3 receiver behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, off the playing field until an Oct. 7 matchup at San Francisco. The 22-year-old showed some talent as a rookie by recording 43 catches for 586 yards and five touchdowns last season.
8/8/2019 Nate Sudfeld, Phi, QB
Sudfeld broke his left wrist on a late hit in the second quarter of Philadelphia's 27-10 loss to the Titans on Thursday night. Sudfeld is scheduled for surgery Friday morning, but Eagles coach Doug Pederson said the injury is not season ending and the team doesn't plan to add another quarterback. Sudfeld threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Marken Michel and finished 10 of 18 for 177 yards.

Analysis: Sudfeld is 20 for 25 for 156 yards and one touchdown in three career games.
8/8/2019 Robert Quinn, Dal, DE
Quinn has been suspended for the first two games of the season for violating the NFL's ban on performance enhancers. He has already been ruled out until the regular season after breaking his left hand in practice at training camp. Quinn will be eligible to return Sept. 22 at home against the Dolphins, who traded him to the Cowboys in the offseason.

Analysis: The Cowboys are counting on Quinn, a first team All-Pro selection in 2013, to start opposite DeMarcus Lawrence. Quinn's 69 sacks since entering the NFL in 2011 are the ninth-most in the league over that stretch.
